Mary Ann Maggiore

With 25% of all American teens headed for five years of unemployment and 30% dropping out of high school and less than 50% of those in college actually making it through, we must all see we have a problem. Looking at the stats for Millennials – those who are age 18 to 35 -- we see that one in every 5 of these young people is presently either unemployed of under-employed. We’ve got a real challenge ahead of us.  But it is a challenge we can meet – if we meet it together.  Mary Ann Maggiore has spent the last 16 years overcoming these daunting numbers for hundreds of young people from South Central Los Angeles to Oakland to San Jose by creating teams to create real change.

Mary Ann Maggiore is many people.  Former Mayor of Fairfax in Marin County; Founder and Executive Director of Five 4 Five, a non-profit for at-risk young people; former college professor and first Director of Dominican’s Service Learning Center -- Mary Ann has also served as the first Director of Girl Scouts Save the Bay which brought environmental activist programs to 54,000 girls and their families.
